The serious economic and social crisis that plagues the lives of millions of Venezuelans, particularly the Venezuelan workers and families, is compounded by the political crisis of legitimacy that confronts the Executive and Judicial Power and the National Assembly.
This crisis has escalated to such levels that it puts us on the verge of violence, hatred, death and foreign military intervention as a way out of political confrontation. What is at stake is the existence of the republic.
The solution to this devastating economic, social and political crisis must be reached by Venezuelans, so it is unacceptable that economic, political, military or foreign elites intend to usurp popular sovereignty (Article 5), as our current Constitution says , it resides not transferably in the people who will be able, by means of consultative referendum (Art. 71) of binding character, to make decisions when it treats of matters of special national interest, as it is obviously the one that worries us at this moment, given the escalation of the political crisis expressed, among other aspects, in the confrontation of two powers that dangerously threatens to destroy the nation-state.
